Pots of Syria
Are you ready for a culinary educational journey?
The Pots of Syria is the title of this cookbook, which through text and pictures from Syria gives a picture of the culture and the country that the many Syrian refugees come from.
Syriens Gryder is written and photographed by journalist Ruth von Sperling and visual artist Pernille Kløvedal Helweg, who, before the civil war in Syria broke out, traveled around the country with the aim of getting to know the country through food. Some fantastic pictures and stories have come out of it.
It is chef Trine Hahnemann who is behind the recipes in the book. Salted lemons, harissa, coriander, couscous and chickpeas are just some of the ingredients in delicious dishes such as baba ganoush, hummus, kafta, fatosh, stuffed aubergines, chicken in tahini as well as cakes and desserts.
